14th – 20th September – Arifa’s Reefers
Arifa’s Reefers are a jazz band that plays swing and blues from the 1920s and 30s. The band is led by singer Arifa Hafiz, a Bangladeshi British who miraculously manages to channel the voices of great blues and jazz singers, such as Billie Holiday, Bessie Smith, Ma Rainey and Merline Johnson, whilst still sounding truly herself. She has an honest and giving spirit and she’ll be accompanied by some of London’s great specialists.

19th + 20th September Lunchtimes – Mazaika
Mazaika Trio bring dazzling virtuosity, infectious passion and spontaneous theatricality to a thrilling fusion of Gypsy fire, Tango, classical virtuosity, hot club and hillbilly mayhem. Led by Igor Outkine’s extraordinary accordion and vocals alongside Sarah Harrison’s virtuosic violin, domra and vocals, they create an intoxicating, genre-defying musical journey.

21st – 27th September – The Vagabond Jacks
The Vagabond Jacks are a new international collective driven by the passion and joy of the early jazz movement. Each vagabond is a bonafide specialist in this era of music and a high level improviser – not a ‘colour by numbers’ pastiche. Tonight we explore the jazz age standards and less commonly heard tunes with our three nations band!

26th +27th September Lunchtimes – Bubu Otis Trio
Bubu Otis is a drummer and vocalist, whose repertoire is inspired by the Jazz tradition of the Great American Songbook. With a band which consists of piano, guitar and double bass, he dares to spin some of these old tunes in a more contemporary fashion.

28th Sept – 4th Oct – La Bouche Manouche
Taking influence from the chic and sophisticated era of the Jazz Age, La Bouche Manouche are a vintage swing band, featuring critically acclaimed jazz singer Irene Serra on vocals. With a repertoire rooted in the sound of gypsy jazz, expect to hear swing tunes from Django Reinhardt, Charleston, French chansons, Bal musette and classic jazz standards from the Great American Songbook.

3rd + 4th Oct – Lunchtimes – The Coloriage Trio
This exciting new London-based trio pays tribute to one of Europe’s greatest living accordionists.  Over a fifty-year career, Richard Galliano has performed and recorded in a myriad of settings ranging from orchestral and big band to solo.  His musical world is a heady mix of contemporary jazz with the sounds of Parisian cafes, gypsy guitars, tango dance halls and much more.  This group honours his work through performing his small ensemble repertoire, along with similarly inspired tunes written by group members.

5th – 11th October – The Sunshine Kings
The Sunshine Kings, led by Graham Hughes, celebrates the best of 20’s jazz, swing and New Orleans.  The band, in various forms, has been entertaining audiences up and down the country for over 15 years now.  A mixed and varied repertoire keeps their performances entertaining and always leaves audiences wanting more.  The musicians enjoy working together to create music that is more than the sum of the individual parts – full of energy and life!  The Sunshine Kings also includes talented vocalists, singing ballads, blues, and uplifting swing numbers, and for variety even the occasional number played on a chromatic harmonica.

10th + 11th Oct – Lunchtimes – Django Reinhardt Sessions with Harry Diplock
Guitarist Harry Diplock brings together some of the UKs most exciting jazz musicians to capture a modern take on the world of acoustic jazz. Inspired by the Parisian jazz scene and rooted in the music of Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli the group is the culmination of over 10 years making music in the vibrant city of London.

12th – 18th October – The Cosimo Matassa Project
Transport yourself 60 years back in time and 3000 miles westwards with the sound of The Cosimo Matassa Project. Made up of some of London’s finest session musicians, the band specialise in recreating the original and authentic sound of R&B – including the 45″ records that emerged from the New Orleans studios of Cosimo Matassa in the 1950s and 1960s by the likes of Little Richard, Ray Charles, Fats Domino, Dr. John, Allen Toussaint and Big Joe Turner.
